A studio art creation can go many directions. If you want something to add warmth, texture and dimension, an assemblage piece made from various materials (new and old) may be the answer. Perhaps you have lost a loved one and want to honor them. I may ask a variety of questions, paint a portrait, and add something they cherished to the piece. Derek was a cabinet maker, drummer and truck enthusiast, so his drumsticks were applied, lyrics from a favorite song engraved, and depiction of his truck added. The painting was created on wood with portions of unfinished cabinetry creating the framework.
